Potions
Helpful and cruel potions are waiting for you in the caverns. Once found you can quaff them instantly or pick them up. Potions should be identified before you drink them so you know what you are drinking.
Sleep
Causes the player to sleep for a certain period of time. In the meantime monsters might hit and even kill the player
Healing
Helps the player to regain some hit points. The number of regained hit points depends on the experience level of the player
If used while the player is already at full hitpoints it increases the maximum hitpoints permanently by +1
Heals for 0-20 hitpoints with 1 bonus hitpoint added for every experience level
Raise Level
Raises the players experience points to the next higher experience level and grants +1 maximum hitpoint
Increase Ability
Increases either strength, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, or charm by +1
Wisdom
Increases the players wisdom by either +1 or +2
Strength
Increases the players strength by +1 or instantly to 12 if it is below 12
Raise Charisma
Increases the players charm by +1
Dizziness
Decreases your strength by -1 but not below 3
Learning
Increases your intelligence by +1
Gold Detection
Shows all gold pieces located on the current dungeon level to the player
Monster Detection
Shows all visible monsters located on the current dungeon level to the player
Forgetfullness
Lets you forget the current dungeon level
The player has to rediscover the whole dungeon level again
Water
Quenches thirst for +1800 steps per potion quaffed
If the player gets drunk from to much beer, they can get sober again by drinking some water
Blindness
Causes blindness for +500 steps per potion quaffed
blindness can be cured instantly by casting cure blindness or reading a remove curse scroll
The player might be attacked or even killed by a monster during the period of blindness
Confusion
Causes confusion for 20 - 29 steps per potion quaffed
Heroism
Causes heroism for +250 steps per potion quaffed
Temporarily increases the players strength, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charm by +10
After the effect fades the attributes listed above will be decreased only by –9
Sturdiness
Increases the players constitution by +1
Giant Strength
Causes giant strength for +700 steps per potion quaffed
Temporarily increases the players strength by +20
After the effect fades the strength will be decreased only by –19
Fire Resistance
Causes fire resistance for +1000 steps per potion quaffed
Treasure Finding
Shows all gold pieces, gems, treasure chests and even the eye of larn on the current dungeon level to the player
Instant Healing
Heals the player to full hitpoints
Cure Dianthroritis
The goal of the whole game
It can be found in the deepest Volcano Temple level protected by a strong demon prince or on higher difficulty settings even the god of hellfire
It can be quaffed but this will mean game-over instead it is meant to be carried back up to the village and be brought into the players home to win the game
Poison
Causes reduced damage output of the player for 200 - 400 steps per potion quaffed
See Invisible
Causes the player to see invisible monsters for 400 - 1400 steps per potion quaffed
Some invisible monsters might still not be visible to the player
Trap Detection
Shows all traps in the current dungeon level to the player
Bringing Luck
Causes luck for 300 - 500 steps per potion quaffed
See Infra-Red
Causes see infra-red for +100 steps per potion quaffed
This detects monsters that can’t be detected by see invisble
Beer
Quenches thirst for +900 steps per potion quaffed
Beer makes you stronger, but be carefull with the quantities of this refreshing beverage
Light Beer
Quenches thirst for +1600 steps
Reduces weight of carried items
Stupidity
Causes stupidity for +80 steps per potion quaffed
intelligence will be divided by 3, wisdom and dexterity will be divided by 2 and charisma will be divided by 4
Illiterate
Causes illiteracy for +70 steps per potion quaffed
Lets the player forget how to read
Lightness
Causes lightness for 400 steps per potion quaffed
Reduces weight of carried items
